She was predeceased by: her parents, Alphonse Hook and Margaret Hook (Elfner); her husband Robert D. Shay; her daughter Lisa; and her grandsons, Austin and Grayson Holly.
She is survived by: her family Carolyn; her children, Col. John Shay (Meg), Karen Holly (Dave) and Angela McCreight (Mark Hobson); her grandchildren, Molly Melchi (Brian), Christopher and David McCreight; her great grandchildren, Morgan and Evan Melchi; and her siblings, Charlene Tosi and Terry Hook. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
