He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Heard and Hazel Heard (Wilkey); his son Charles Heard Jr.; his siblings, Paul Heard, Nathan Heard and Mary Alice Carpenter; and his close friend Mary.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sylvia Heard of New York, Angela Reynolds-Calhoun (Todd) of Georgia and Teresa Zischler of Georgia; and his sisters, Emma Brown (John) of Springfield and Mary Ann Payne (Joseph) of Springfield. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
