He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff N. Messer and Ellen Messer (Gray); his uncle Jonnie Messer; and his aunt Betsy Messer. He is survived by: his wife Karen D. Messer (Hicks); his children, Karen L. Messer (Brett Leigh) and David A. Messer; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Kearstan, Landon, Cheyanne, Carol, Alexis and David; and his siblings, Beverly Hale (Dan) and Jim Messer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
