He was predeceased by: his father Clyde Black; and his sisters, Suzi Howell and Patty Whipp. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Black (Cook); his children, Douglas Richard Black Jr. (Penny), Heather Trimmer (Brad) and Aundrea Black; his granddaughter Linda Frantz; his great grandchildren, Tessa McDonald, Hanna McDonald, Brianna McDonald (Marjuan Fisher), Mayci McDonald, Aunah Trimmer, Aryah Trimmer, Aleeseah Trimmer, Ellie Black, Greyson Black, Lahela Dunn (Joe) and Zeith Black (Mary Beth); and his siblings, Karter Mayes, Ashton Horne, Aaron Horne, Jhene'Whitedale and Canaan Dunn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
