He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl K. Settles and Evelyn Settles (Wilke); and his brother John Settles. He is survived by : his wife Shirley "Shirl" (Dowler); and his sister Freda Anderson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; numerous close friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Conroy Funeral Home (1660 E High St, Springfield, OH 45505). A masonic service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 2:55 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
