He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Salyer and Sophia Salyer (Kirk); his wife Betty Jane Salyer; and his siblings, Geraldine Johnson, Lucille Hackworth, Delores Smith, Freda DeNinno, Mary Vaughn, Paula Joan Jones, Charles Salyer and Robert Salyer.
He is survived by: his children, Belinda Williams (Mitchell), Elza James Salyer and Joy Nolasco (Augustin); his grandchildren, Russell Williams III (Christy), Rob Allison (Ally) and Tayler Bailey; his great grandchildren, Jacob Williams, Brooke Norton, Liam, Jason and Owen Allison; and his sister Patricia "Gayle" Salyer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
