She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert E. Heard and Hazel M. Heard (Wilkey); her siblings, Charles Heard, Nathan Heard, Paul Heard and Mary Alice "Seedy" Carpenter; her son Kenneth E. Neal; and her stepdaughter Ren'e Hajja Al-Moore.
She is survived by: her husband John C. Brown; her sons, Robert L. Neal (Cara), Chris Neal and Omari Bell-Moore; her stepson Eric Moore (Greta); her daughter Breia Bell-Moore; her sister Mary Ann Payne Sr. (Joseph L.); and her close friend Sandy Blackman. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
