George Houk Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Houk of Springfield, Ohio, who passed away on July 19, 2025 at the age of 72. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George Houk to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Albertus Houk and Dr. Irene Houk (Miller); and his sister Miriam Ada. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his daughters, Annie Houk Moore (James) and Katie Houk Denney (Aaron); his grandsons, James and John Moore; his sister Martha; his brother-in-law Larry Helle; his sibling's children, Beth Catlos (Dan), Miriam Maughan (Keven) and Don Helle (BethAnn); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Abigail, Rebecca, Benjamin Catlos, Kendall, Ryan Maughan, Courtney, Lindsay and Ashley Helle; and his siblings-in-law, John Shepherd (Sandy), Robin Pusztay (Steve) and Frederick Shepherd. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (29 Spruce St, Leetonia, OH 44431).
In lieu of flowers, the family has established the George Houk Agricultural and Natural Resources Scholarship Fund at Farmer's National Bank.
