He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby P. Childs; his sisters, Beverly Compton and Vicki Wilson; and his close friend Ken "Big Red" Seelig. He is survived by: his wife Carlene; his brothers, Bill Childs of Springfield and Terry Childs of Tennessee; his daughters, Sherry Rosseland of Troy and Teresa Roy (Terry) of Urbana; his stepson Dieter of Springfield; and his grandchildren, Roger, Matt, Lisa, Megan and Michelle.
