He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie E. Burks Jones and Nathaniel Moore; his grandparents, Andrew and Bertha Burks; and his brother Bishop C. Richard Robinson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jaqua Jones, Taja Jones and Erin Evans; and his granddaughter Janessa Jones. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

At Gordon's request, there are no services, and he directed that his remains be donated to Wright State University.
