He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Taylor and Efie Taylor (Flener); his son Scott Taylor; his siblings, Corine Alford, Dimple Taylor and Chester Taylor; and his sister-in-law Sandra Dixon.

He is survived by: his wife Louise Taylor (Hixon); his children, Sean Taylor of Springfield, Jill Sanders (Mark) of Springfield and Jami Kyler (James) of Canton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Sloan Kyler of Canton, Ella and Jameson Sanders of Springfield; his siblings-in-law, Waleka Hetico (Tim), Billie Blazer (Joe) and Gary Dixon; and his nephew Dempsey Henderson (Wilma) of Morgantown, Kentucky. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
