He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo V. Caplinger and Ernestine Gladden Caplinger; his grandchildren, Joseph Caplinger, Charlotte and Kyle; and his wife Carol W. Caplinger.
He is survived by: his children, Carol L. Caplinger-Lemons, James N. Caplinger and Victoria Fredrick (Paul Fredrick); his sister JoAnne Nelson; and his grandchildren, Jeffery Lemons, Christian, Carson, Troy Caplinger and Nicodemus Landaverde.
