He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gardewin and Mary Gardewin (Tyler); and his brother Michael Tyler Gardewin. He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph M. Gardewin, Mary "Betsy" Brennan and Barbara Hairston. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
