He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Whipp and Betty Whipp (Gatlin). He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Amy Closson (Eli), Kyle Whipp (Chasity), Emily Bowermeister, Joe Callicoat (Stephanie) and Tim Callicoat; his grandchildren, Will, Lily, Chloe, Amanda, Madison, Alison, Ariana, Kaitlyn, Clista, Cory and Destiny; and his close friends, Joanie, Gary, Brian, Kim and Mazie. He is also survived by two sisters; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
