It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E Friend of Springfield, Ohio, born in Zanesville, Ohio, who passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Howell and Mayme Short Howell; and her sister Martha Howell. She is survived by : her husband James L. "Sonny" Friend; her children, Jennifer Jamison (Tim) and Robert H. Friend (Lisa); her grandchildren, Heather Bauman (Tim), Tim Jamison (Dayna), Samantha Pease (Brandon), Dr. Amanda Friend and Erin Friend; and her great grandchildren, Emily, Jack Bauman and Hannah Pease.

In remembrance of Mary's life, the family asks that charitable donations be made to either Boardman United Methodist Church, Alzheimer's Association or Hospice.
