He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Whitacre and Mary Catherine Whitacre; his wife Sherry Hannon; and his daughter Jamie Rape. He is survived by: his children, Mike Whitacre (Sue) of Little Rock, Lisa Flores (Jeff) of Springfield and Shane Whitacre of Columbus; his grandchildren, Michael Whitacre (Amy), Abby Womble (Ted), Madeline Whitacre, Stephen Valley, Seth, Adam, Noah Rape, Connor, Payton, Keegan and Bradie Whitacre; his great grandchildren, Bailey and Brody Whitacre; his siblings, Joe Whitacre (Gretchen), Steven Whitacre (Connie), Christine Wissinger and Rene Talkers (Ralph); and his siblings-in-law, Mickey Hannon (Marilyn) and Patty DeWine. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Michael would have appreciated support of Second Harvest Food Bank, Ohio's Hospice or St. Bernard Catholic Church.
