He is survived by: his sons, Justin Dawson and Danny Dawson (Lauren); his grandchildren, Brittany, Breanna, Brady Dawson, Roan, Audrey Dawson, Oliver and Elijah Dawson; his sister-in-law Donna Dawson; his nephews, Darrick Dawson (Beth) and Steven Dawson (Molly); his great-nephew Kobe Dawson; his great-nieces, Emily Johnson (Jeremiah), Hannah Dawson and Bryn Dawson; Dawn Dawson, Gary, Jared Sexton, Keith Murley of Tennessee and Gilbert Hufford of Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to the World War II Remembrance Museum U.S.S. Tennessee, 400 Scott High Drive, Huntsville, TN 37756 in Paul's Honor.
