He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Marquis and Nellie Jeannine Smedley (Shepherd); his son Terrence Lee Smedley; his granddaughter Logann Smedley; his brother Patrick Smedley; his brothers-in-law, Michael Patrick and Christopher Marsh; and his niece Monica Marsh Ford.
He is survived by: his children, Ciera Gernert (David) and Jason Smedley (Ammisa); his grandchildren, Athena and Cooper; his siblings, Elizabeth Barna, Robert Smedley (Linda), Nannette Marsh and Valerie Crews (James); and his friend Lisa Smedley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home (1002 E High St, Springfield, OH 45505). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Raphael Catholic Church (225 E High St, Springfield, OH 45505).
