He was predeceased by: his mother Catherine Moon (Phares); and his wife Charlotte Moon. He is survived by: his father Leroy F. Moon; his children, Richard E. Moon, Jr. (Laura), Michael Moon (Jennifer Kleekamp), Teresa Carroll (Ron), Nancy Lacey and Julie Scott (Brett Halsey); his sister Kay Moore; and his sister-in-law Janice Hooten. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
