He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth F. Shultz and Virginia Mary Lou Shultz; his mother-in-law Hazel Virginia Miller; and his son Dustin Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Shultz (Lambert); his sister Lisa Wratchford; his nephews, Joshua Searcy (Joan) and Lucas Wratchford; his great-nephew Dominic Searcy; his sons, Nick Shultz and Paul Matthews (Michele); his grandchildren, Katy Puccio, Kaitlyn Foraker (Casey), Austin Matthews (Lydia), Hannah Matthews, Victoria Bendele, Brayden Matthews and Isabella Matthews; and his great grandchildren, Dustin Matthews, Dean Matthews and Emmarie Foraker.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home (507 Jefferson St, New Carlisle, OH 45344).
