He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Carney and Emma J. Carney (Kleopper); and his wife Barbara Carney (Vogel). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Anderson (Steve), Mike Carney (Theresa), Chris Carney (Kecia) and Colleen Dooley (Tim); and his grandchildren, Connor Carney (Kaylee), Kacie Carney (Ethan Anderson), Rachel Dooley, David Dooley, Elizabeth Anderson, Philip Anderson and Meagan Carney.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton in Robert's honor.
