He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd E. Rix and Mabel P. Rix (Williams); and his siblings, Thelma Priwer (Paul), Betty Pyles (Roger) and James Rix (Alice).

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Rix (Dennis); his sisters, Janice Henson (Homer), Constance Rix, Carole Huff (Wilbur) and Vicki Ballard (Howard); his children, Lisa Harger (Greg), Amy Stiles and Todd Rix (Kourtney); and his grandchildren, Devin Rix, Jordan Rix, Jamy Stiles, Jeana Stiles and Kaitlyn Harger.
