She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Sorrell and Tishia Aleane Sorrell (Alexander); her son Emanuel Sorrell; and her sisters, Victoria Kuhn (Sorrell) and Rhonda McNier.
She is survived by: her children, John Taylor Jr., Tabitha Sorrell and Lucia Morales Sorrell; her grandson Malaki Hill; her sisters, Debra Harbaugh (Sorrell) and Shari Keaton; and her siblings' children, Tishia Smithson (Harbaugh), Jasmine Stigall and Justin Sorrell. She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sonja's family to help with expenses.
