He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry E. Harshaw and Ora J Harshaw (Elston); and his sister Candace Moore. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Jean Harshaw (Bayless); his children, Jeff Harshaw (Carmen) and Audra Taylor (Lance); his grandchildren, Kemarr Jones, Makenzie Taylor and Myles Taylor; his great grandchild Keontre'Jones; his sister-in-law Barbara Bayless; his stepmother Doris Harshaw; and his sibling's children, Nicole Folson, Christopher Moore, Rhonda Clark and Risha Clark. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
