He is survived by: his sons, Steven Yates, Tom Yates (Donna) and Todd Yates; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, Connor, Jordon and Jay; and his siblings, Raymond Yates (Lois), Janet Havens, Robert Yates (Judy) and Vernon Yates. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
