He was predeceased by: his siblings, Edward Thornton of East Rockaway, NY and Eileen Fitzgerald of Dunedin, FL.. He is survived by: his wife Nora; his children, Kathleen Spinnenweber (Andrew) of Steubenville and Mark Thornton (Ellen) of Maplewood, NJ; and his grandchildren, Mark Spinnenweber of Steubenville, William Spinnenweber of Bloomington, IN, Summer and Serena Thornton of Maplewood, NJ. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bridge for Peace in Wading River, NY.
