He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Michalik and Ida Olton Michalik; his wife Nancy Lopatowicz Michalik; and his siblings, Laura Roszczyk and Stanley Michalik.

He is survived by: his children, Mary Catherine Cook (Kaye), Mark Michalik, Jean Ann Lewis, Barbara "Babs" Cadile and John Michalik; his grandchildren, Julianna, Shannan, Kristopher, Jessica, Michael and Marissa; his great grandchildren, Trayc, Maddie, Mackenzie, Ellie, Noah and Andrew; and his close friend Ruth Huffman.
