He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Thompson and Cora Thompson; and his siblings, Beatrice, Edward, Donale and Richard.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his daughter Renee Rinella (Jimmie); and his siblings-in-law, Rodney and Judith Day. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
