He was predeceased by: his former wife Greta Miller (Schilmiller); his wife Mary Hartley-Miller; his daughter Leanna Dean; and his brother Kenneth Miller. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Miller-Simpson, Julie Brant, Laura Rufe, Edward Miller (Joy), Carol Bryan (Pat) and Brenda Basford (Jim); his son-in-law Tom Dean; and his sister Jean Walker. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
