Larry N. Nichols Obituary

STOW - Larry Nolan Nichols, 65, went to be with The Lord in the sweetest way possible, in the comfort of his own home with his wife at his side on April 24, 2020.

He was born on May 13, 1954 in Hattiesburg, MS.

Mr. Nichols was a longtime resident of Bushnell, FL (1987-2007) where he retired from Hernando County Fire Rescue as the Assistant Fire Chief prior to moving with his family to Stow, OH, where he furthered his career while working at Hudson EMS. He was medically retired in October 2018 after earning the title of Deputy Chief for Hudson EMS.

Every single one of his colleagues always had the most admirable things to say about him and it is with nothing but admiration that they have all wished their Chief to rest easy, as 'they've got it from here.'

In total, Deputy Chief Larry Nichols has dedicated 44 years of his life to saving others' lives.

Larry was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Akron, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father James J. Nichols; mother Eva L. (Eaton) Yates; his brother James A. Nichols; and one of his dearest longtime friends, Kimberli A. Smothers.

This compassionate and strong man left behind his wife of 35 years Patricia L. Nichols – whom he absolutely adored! His four daughters that brought him so much pride: Tiffany Sutton; Rebecca Jolly; Marlena Nichols; and his baby girl Cheryl Nichols (or as he always called her… Peaches). This extraordinary man found joy in so many things but his eyes smiled the brightest when he saw the faces of his 4 grandchildren he is also survived by: Brandon Hoover, Isabelle Scott, Lucas Scott, and Emmett Nolan Nichols.

This beautiful man also left behind, his very best friend James D. Smothers; his half-brother Lewis Nichols (whom he had found later in life); and a total of 18 nieces and nephews.
