With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lester Bates of Strasburg, Ohio, who passed away on October 27, 2023 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lester Bates to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Bates and Clara Bates (Hartman); his wife Marilyn Bates; and his sister Norma Weber. He is survived by : his children, Lynn Emick (Jeff) and Tim "Jake" Bates (Crystal); his grandchildren, Rob, Andy, Lee Slemmer, Kyle Martin, Jason Bates and Amanda Byrd; and his kitty buddy Tabby. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Les' memory may be directed to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
