He was predeceased by: his parents, Ammon Gardner and Clara Gardner (Horrisberger); his former wife Betty Gardner (Huprich); his wife Rose Gardner (Stoneman); and his siblings, Edwin, Lloyd, Dennis, Clyde and Grace Gardner.
He is survived by: his children, Ken Gardner (Margie) of Pickerington, Rita Mast (Ken) of Dover, Denise Stoneman Hartline (Robert) of Strasburg and Steph Stoneman Lautenschleger (Rick) of Strasburg; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Rensberger (Nathan), Rachel Gardner, Jim Gardner (Chelsey), Chelsie Mast, Natasha Demuth (Adam), Lexi Palmer (Ryan), Heather Forrest (Corey) and T. J. Lautenschleger (Hilary).
