He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Lenarz and Mary Lenarz; his brother Donald Lenarz; and his grandson Dylan. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Lenarz; his children, Debbie Jenkins (Jeremy) and Mike Lenarz (Christina); and his grandchildren, Nolan Jenkins, Ben, Sarah Lenarz and Nash Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Cleveland Orchestra, 11001 Euclid Ave, Cleveland OH 44106.
