He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Eugene Semenchuk (Lola); and his sibling Imre Kertész (Marika). He is survived by: his wife Jane Kertes; his daughters, Julie Ferguson (Kevin) and Laura Kitko; his grandchildren, Michael, Sara, Tim Ferguson, John and Nicole Kitko; his niece Elizabeth; his nephew George Semenchuk; his siblings, Jolán (Joli) Verpecz (Géza) and József Kertész (Iren); his nieces and nephews, Edina Verpecz, Zsuzsi Kertész, Imi Kertész and Józsi Kertész of Hungary; and his family, Miskolc, Nyékládháza, Mályi (family: Vizsoly), Amish and Hungarian.
