He is survived by: his wife Penny Suman of Struthers; his children, Amanda Kinteh, Elizabeth Persello of Louisville, Christina Kittle (Derrick) of Champion and Michael Nelson (Bethany) of Niles, Ohio; his grandchildren, Lela Suman, Natalie Kittle, Nathan Kittle, Carter Persello and Michael Henry Nelson; his sisters, Donna McAllister of North Vandergrift and Mary Jane "Peewee" Carman of Rivesville; and his brother-in-law George Dennis (Clara) of Youngstown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
