He is survived by: his wife Teresa Hagan Wharton; his children, Kyle, Mary and Ryan Wharton; his siblings, Brenda Wharton (Brenda Gardner) and Don Wharton; his uncle Dave Wharton (Marianne Wharton); his cousin Bart Orcutt; his sisters-in-law, Michelle Hagan (Steve Hub) and Melessa Hagan Norcross (Donald Norcross); his nieces and nephews, Phillip Norcross (Sarah), Angela Norcross, Ben Norcross (Kaitlyn) and Kay Norcross Worden (Khristopher); his great-nephew Everett Norcross; and his great-nieces, Haley Worden and Penelope Norcross.

He did many charity rides over the years.
