James Edward Thatcher Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Edward Thatcher of Sunbury, Ohio, born in Gahanna, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 14, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil A. Thatcher and Freda Louise Thatcher (Carpenter); and his brother Jerry Thatcher. He is survived by: his wife Janet Sue MacBlane; his children, Colleen Raegene Stambaugh (Jerry) and Stephen Eric Thatcher (Valerie); his grandchildren, Ashley Oney (Perry), Aunna Ziebarth (Rick), Gavin and Gracyn Thatcher; and his great grandchildren, Logan and Evan Oney.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Trenton Cemetery (15495 Hartford Rd, Sunbury, OH 43074).
Jim loved the outdoors especially gardening, and with a positive attitude he believed that every day is a gift of God and that every day is a good day!In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunbury Christian Church.
