He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Ann Shipley (Widman) and Charles Resaw Shipley; his mother-in-law Ella Reiter; his brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Hatcher II and Edward Barker; and his niece Lauren Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Shipley; his daughters, Dr. Amy Shipley (A. Wilkie) and Dr. Caroline Shipley (Erik Scaltriti); and his siblings, Mike Shipley (Eva), Mary Lou Barker, Judy Mersing (Jim), Karen Baker (Chris) and Jenny Myers (Bob). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
