He was predeceased by : his father Juan Y. Ortiz; and his father-in-law Bob Marriott. He is survived by : his mother Maria Ortiz (Montecinos); his wife Sue Ortiz (Marriott); his children, Angela Ortiz, Justin Bennett and Paige Ballard (Avery); his siblings, Toni Ortiz, Samuel Ortiz (Terri) and Joe Ortiz (Katie); and his mother-in-law Karen Marriott. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
