He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Brenner (Oster) and Frederick Byersmith; his stepfather Verle Brenner; his parents-in-law, Jackie Staab (Joseph Staab) and Charles D. Brown Sr.; his nephew Joshua T. Brown; and his brother-in-law Donald Siewert.
He is survived by: his significant other Betsy Byersmith; his children, Mark Byersmith (Kanisha), Zachary Johnston (Randi) and Kendra Johnston; his granddaughters, Isabella Jackson, Brooklyn Byersmith, Parker Johnston and Lennyn Boettner; and his siblings-in-law, MJ Siewert, Cindy Burgin (Rick), Sheri Taylor and Charles Brown (Donna). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered to the scholarship fund at Saint Ursula Academy in Rick's memory.
