Catherine Kowalski wrote a sympathy message

“The Worhatch and Kowalski families of Petersburg Alaska send their prayers and condolences to Jim's family. Jim will always hold a special place in our hearts. Recently the Weiss family and mine did an interview with Jim. It was wonderful to hear the history of "Young Fellows Drug, all the stories, his voice, especially his laugh. We will cherish the gifts he has given of himself to our family for our time left here on earth. God Bless and may peace be with you all. Catherine Kowalski”
