He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Smith and Patricia Smith (Ferree); his wife Janice D. Chinell; and his sister Gina Bentley. He is survived by: his children, Delbert R. Smith, Jr. (Dianne) of McComb, Owanna Ortiz (Israel) of Tiffin, Donnell Smith of Tiffin and Betty Smith of Tiffin; his sister Jessica Polhamus (David) of Michigan; and his sister-in-law Doris Elaine McFerren of Tiffin. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
