He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dougherty and Velma Dougherty (Eyler); his wife Diane Sweet; and his siblings, Madeleine Fletcher, Mary Ellen Mahaffey, Margaret Jenkins, Bernadine Waters, Catherine Menear, Grace Rogers, Theresa McDaniel (Tootie), Ruth Dougherty, June Lee Dougherty, Pat Hyett, Helenamae Baugh, Jerry Vogel, John Dougherty and Tom Dougherty.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Dennis (Robert) of Palm Harbor, FL and Gary Dougherty (Lori McKenzie) of Powell, OH; his grandchildren, Andrew Dennis of Dunedin, FL, Molly Hughes (Lewie) of Canal Winchester, OH and Sarah Dougherty (Devyn Jones) of Columbus, OH; his great grandchild Lainey Shea Jones; his sibling Tiffin; and his friend Dave Fodor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory (236 S Washington St, Tiffin, OH 44883). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ritz Theatre, St. Joseph Catholic Church, or SouthernCare Hospice.
