He is survived by: his significant other Irma Cortez; his children, Alejandro Avila (Erika), Angela Avila, Rachel Berro (Balal), Mariah Lopez, Miguel Lopez and Maritza Lopez; and his brothers, Mike Avila (Stephanie) and Robert "Bobby" Avila. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Kidney Project at UCSF in Antonio's memory.
