He was predeceased by: his daughter Andrea (Charlene); and his parents, Anthony John and Leona Smith. He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his children, Michael R. Smith (Beth) and Karen McIlhargey; and his grandchildren, Matthew Smith (Heather), Jonathan Smith, Martin Ellis (Sally), Gregory Ellis (Vicky), Daniel Ellis (Amber), Kelly Guzman (Chris Motz), Kristi Germain (Zach Badhorn), Kady Snyder (Drew) and Jocelyn Bongorno (Mike). He is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Grave side service will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.Memorial tributes may be made in Charles's name to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association or Ebeid Hospice.
