He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Sanchez Patiño and Alicia Sanchez Torres; his son Ricardo Martinez; and his brother Carlos Sanchez. He is survived by: his wife Teodora (Leal); his children, Diana Martinez, Robert Martinez, Inez Martinez, Pete Martinez, Shirley Sanchez and Sharon Escobedo (Federico); his sister Rosario Sanchez; his nephew Carlos Sanchez; and his close friend Clancy Yeager. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
