He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Poirier and Edwin Poirier; his sister Diane Cottongim; his brother-in-law Fred Cottongim; his brother Gregory Poirier; and his grandson Jordan Poirier.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Poirier; his children, Daniel Poirier (Jovelyn), Joseph Poirier and Lorna Cervantes (Poirier); his son-in-law Enrique Cervantes; and his sister Rosalyn Jones. He is also survived by loving grandchildren, one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Lion of Judah World Outreach Center or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
