James Colbert Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Colbert (Toledo, Ohio), born in Boyle, Mississippi, who passed away on June 13, 2020 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Quillie Colbert and Eddie Mae Colbert (Chesser); his wife Colleen R. Colbert (McShane); his siblings, Willie Colbert, Alfort Colbert, Edwena Roberts, Rosie Clerk, Lucy Collins, Qullietena Ashley and Othalena Foreman (Colbert); and his grandchildren, Justin Colbert and Theresa Brazzel.

He is survived by: his brothers, T. C. and Reverend Charles E. Jones; his daughters, Tammy Battle (Nolan Sr.), Tonya Colbert-Randolph (Derrick), Tatia Hollis (James), Tia Colbert, Tara Pope (Antonio) and Timika Colbert; his siblings, Virgis Colbert (Angela) and Ann C. Battles; and his sister-in-law Barbara Colbert. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral will be private.
