He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Best and Edna Best (McIlwain); his daughter Terri Best; his brother William Best; and his brothers-in-law, David Smiddy, Sr. and Jack Goad.
He is survived by: his wife Dianna Best; his children, Douglas Best, James McCourt (Heather), Jeffrey McCourt (Ashley) and Lisa McCourt (Nikki); and his sister-in-law Paula Goad. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery (6382 Monroe St, Sylvania, OH 43560).
Memorial contributions may be made to Athens Missionary Baptist Church or Care 360 Hospice in Jim's memory.
