He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter and Helen (Stanoff). He is survived by: his wife Sandra (Warner); his brother Larry Smolenski; and his sisters-in-law, Suzanne Toelle and Sheila Eitniear (Rod).
His contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the Toledo Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1989.
